Irregularlies #194

Sorry for the lack of updates lately. I've had some trouble keeping up my regular drawing schelude lately. I hope that the rest of febreuary will be more consistent.

Anyway, remmember when I said that I am sick of studies? Yeah that lasted for about 24 hours. I've been doing some really short figure drawing studies at the start of every day.

And today I decided to do some hand studies:

I've also tried writing the dialogue for the #3 page of the comic, but I am stumped. Everything sounds stupid, and I can't think of anything that will fit the situation. I am never gonna draw the page before writing the dialogue again.

  1. Are you open to dialog suggestions? I'd hate for you to give up on the comic...

    1. If you want to write something then go ahead, but I most likely won't use it. I prefer my own dialogue, even if it's dumb. I'll come up with something eventually.

  2. Pull a shia with the dialogue; just turn it into nonsensical sexy talk and run it back and forth through an online language translator a couple times. The results are rather humorous, then again, if you're open to dialogue suggestions...welp I am trying to be a semi-pro writer and I've got a good partner, we could give some advice if you're down.

    1. The problem I have with this page is very practical: I drew the page first, without much thought put into what the characters are saying, and now I have trouble getting the dialogue to flow nicely. There is a disconnect between what they're saing and what's drawn on the page. I don't think it's something that can be helped right now. I think I'll just write in whatever fits, accept that the dialogue will not be as good as it could be, and learn from this mistake.

When I actually plan ahead, and take time to write the script while planning the page I think I can write half decent dialogue... At least as far as porn goes. I think that is what's making this page so hard for me. The dialogue on the first two was decent(ish), and now I don't want the quality to drop.

  3. Sometimes you can be your own worst critic and that can really hinder your creativity. Swat the internal critic off your shoulder and roll with it. You're brilliant. Don't forget that!!!

  4. Also try to remember the situation in your mind, before the drawing, you certainly have movements and sounds in head, probably a few words.
You can also think of your storyline, if they have nothing to say, maybe they can talk about what they plan to do in the following pages.
this technique create anticipation for the reader, mental conditionment for an acceptance of the (sometimes) strange situation in comics, and let you free from less useful descriptive panel .

    sfme.

ps : your studies are better and better but one thing : stop drawing ghost hands and feet !
you do that all the time ^^ (exept when you study specifically hands and feet)

I know that you dislike drawing hands and totally hate drawing feet ^^ but take a look on the first top studie : 10 complete body with arms and legs but only 9 feet (and just 2 or 3 are a little developped).

Maybe you plan making amputee , or full fist-(and feet)fucking porn (wait a min... the last idee is ...kinda ...no, forget it.)
